I know that there was talk about a cap on Indiana’s property taxes of 1 percent of the homes value. Does anyone know if that was ever passed? Our taxes have still not been assessed for 2008 and I was hoping that they would go down.
we have about $18,000 in available equity. The addition is likely to exceed that amount. Do you know if a mortgage company will lend you more than your home is appraised at for an addition since the value of the home will increase when the addition is complete?
Attempting to buy a relative’s home ~ but the home & property (5acres) was appraised for $30,000. less than the asking price.
Relative was upset, because the house was appraised 5yrs ago at $10,000. OVER the current appraisal value ~ and that number was for the house alone, didn’t include the value of the land it [...]
Our town recently reassesed home values. Mine went up almost 70%. I can challenge the revaluation, but I need to know what will help in reducing this.

So, don’t use the excuse that whats bad for them is bad for me.. Not everyone is being forclosed, only the losers that over-extended themselves
