We are considering installing a pro-snap metal roof on our home (a 1924 bungalow, 900 square foot), and I’m just wondering if it will decrease the resale value of our home? Thanks! God bless!

A metal roof will increase your home resale value by 1-6%
(see http://www.metalroofing.com/v2/content/g…
This is due to several reasons:
1. Metal Roofs last longer than shingles
2. Metal Roofs are more energy efficient than shingles.
3. They look great!
There are many types of metal roofing, including vertical panels as well as metal roofing that looks like slate, shakes, tile, and more. Some of these will add more value to your house than others.

You should actually contact a local real estate agent or two with your question. They have the best knowledge relative to how acceptable such a roof would be in your particular area.
As another said, where I live, it would detract from the value. They are considered dirt ugly here. Elsewhere they are becoming more common.

Probably not but it really depends. If the metal roof looks out of place for that style of home or even your neighborhood in general it could have a negative affect. On the other hand, a low maintanence, durable metal roof can be a major plus.

No, in fact a properly installed metal roof will increase the value of the home. One major concern of any home buyer is the condition of the roof. Having a high qualify roof that has a long life is a good thing.

No, an ugly metal roof could only increase your home’s value! Just make sure that regularly go up on the roof in slippery shoes and check for leaks during snow and rain storms.

In CA you would never sell it. Maybe it is acceptable in some parts of the country, but not where I am.
